About Chonny bakes

I'm Jonathan and I'm the founder of Chonny Bakes! I discovered baking very young while baking cakes with my grandma. Years went by before I baked again.  About 11 years ago, I started doing cakes and cupcakes, and named myself Chonny Cakes.  It was mildly successful, but didn't last very long at all.  After that, I just baked occasionally, until 2020 and the pandemic hit.  Then Chonny Bakes was born and took off! I found it was a great way to continue seeing people in some capacity during lockdown and bring smiles to their faces. 

I am a "me, myself, and I" business (although I do have a couple friends who do love to help once in a while!). I juggle this with my other jobs - I'm an adjunct voice teacher in the theatre department at Wright State University, and I work with a couple theatres in the Columbus area.  This is hopefully the start of a wonderful journey for Chonny Bakes, and I can't wait to share my baked goods with more and more people! 

Recently, I have been a part of many markets around Columbus, Ohio, so keep an eye out for an updated calendar on this site so you know where to find me!

Oatis Crispin Pierce is my wonderful mascot! He's just as excited as I am to introduce my Oatmeal Cream Pies to everybody! Keep an eye for him everywhere, as he's starting to pop up on stickers, t-shirts, keychains, and more!

My oatmeal cream pies have become my claim to fame.  They are my most ordered item, and have been enjoyed by customers of all ages.  I have over 30 flavors, PLUS all are available to be ordered as gluten free!
