About Chonny bakes

I'm Jonathan and I'm the founder of Chonny Bakes! I discovered baking very young while baking cakes with my grandma. Years went by before I baked again.  About 11 years ago, I started doing cakes and cupcakes, and named myself Chonny Cakes.  It was mildly successful, but didn't last very long at all.  After that, I just baked occasionally, until 2020 and the pandemic hit.  Then Chonny Bakes was born and took off! I found it was a great way to continue seeing people in some capacity during lockdown and bring smiles to their faces. 

I am a "me, myself, and I" business (although I do have a couple friends who do love to help once in a while!). I juggle this with my other jobs - I'm an adjunct voice teacher in the theatre department at Wright State University, and I work with a couple theatres in the Columbus area.  This is hopefully the start of a wonderful journey for Chonny Bakes, and I can't wait to share my baked goods with more and more people! 

My first cake I decorated was 11 years ago for my niece's birthday.  This was the start of the short lived Chonny Cakes.

My oatmeal cream pies have become my claim to fame.  They are my most ordered item, and have been enjoyed by customers of all ages.  They also come in three flavors: original, triple berry, and chocolate chip.
